1. What is your favorite book?
My favorite books include the Bible and The Power of I Am by Joel Osteen. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer who starred in the War Room is also a favorite of mine. It was a treasured Christmas gift from my friend and coworker Robin Williams. For leisurely reading, any book by author Nicholas Sparks, especially The Notebook.
2. What are your hobbies and interest?
My hobbies include a daily workout at Planet Fitness, biking, and walking or running. In 2011, I placed 7th in my division in The St. Jude in Memphis Marathon 5K Run. I enjoy reading and traveling. I have been fortunate to have visited Paris twice, Italy, the Netherlands, and England. However, my favorite locales include New York for the Broadway Musicals and New Orleans for the cuisine. I also love playing either inside or outside with my grandchildren which I lovingly refer to as my “Little Monkeys”.
3. What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of raising my two sons, Cliff and Chris, and their unconditional love. Finally getting my name “Judy” instead of “Cliff’s Mom” or “Chris’ Mom” which their friends still use after all these years!
Being a “MiMi” to: 22-year-old Kacey, my 1st grandchild who has been the gorgeous, loving daughter I always wanted. 12-year-old Olivia, was my
best birthday present ever. We were born on the same day, 12/23, and share a special bond. Olivia, my look-alike, is referred to as "Little Jude" by friends. 9-year-old Colton is my handsome dark-eyed “Prince” who is called the “Tan Man” because of his beautiful olive skin. Colton
says he will take care of his “MiMi” when I’m old or as he says “you’re already there”. 4-year-old Lola is my beautiful dark-haired, dark-eyed
little “Angel” on earth who touches my heart every time she looks at me. Finally, there is 4-year-old Aiden Kurt, my curly headed Great-Grandson
whose sky blue eyes light up my life. Can you tell I love being a Grandmother?
I am also proud to be working as a team member of MWG Broker Services and blessed to be in excellent health at age 68. I attended University of Southern Mississippi and will be celebrating my 50th Provine High School Class Reunion in May.
4. What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote comes from a business card my father, H.E. Blaine, carried in his pocket to pass out when he saw a special kind of woman. It was called “Four Things a Woman Should Know”:
- How to look like a GIRL
- How to act like a LADY
- How to think like a MAN
- How to work like a DOG
Thank you, Daddy. I have this posted on my computer and have tried to “live” it all my life!
5. Briefly tell us your life story.
I live Brandon, MS at the Ross Barnett Reservoir in the original Barnett Bend Subdivision off Old Fannin Road in a small 2BR 1B home which I had built in 1991 while my youngest son was at Northwest Rankin. Over the past 25 years, I was remarried, sold my house, got divorced, and bought my home back. This was definitely a “God” thing! I am a member of Pine Lake Church on Lakeland Drive and very blessed to have my grandchildren attend with me on Sundays.
I began my career with Morgan White Group in May 2010. I definitely have counted my blessings because Ed Buchanan and Robin Williams gave me a chance, at age 62, to start a new career and chapter in my life. Mr. Buchanan said it was because of my handwritten thank-you note combined with my boldness. I didn’t have an appointment and just took a seat in the lobby with Velissa Taylor, who was a receptionist at the time. Speaking softly, I said “I don’t think this is a good idea”. However, my determination finally got Mr. Buchanan to come and meet with me. A couple of days later, I received a call from Robin Williams and the rest is history. Now, I am going into my sixth year of working bliss. I began as “Recruiting Specialist” making cold calls to agents and writing thank you notes. In October 2013, after pleading to Mr. Buchanan, he gave me the opportunity sell our Premium Saver Product. Thank you Lord! My 2015 sales increased from 2014 and my goal for 2016 is to be a Pace Setter!
