Are you a coffee or tea person? What is your favorite way to enjoy it (iced, hot, flavored, creamers, etc.)? And are you more of a morning person or a night owl?

I’m a coffee person. I love a flavored iced coffee with lots of creamer—I call it blond coffee! Haha! And while coffee helps keep me going, I’m a night owl. I tend to be most productive and creative in the evenings.

What is your favorite vacation spot, or where is your dream destination you would love to visit one day?

I love any vacation that includes the beach! Relaxing by the ocean is my favorite way to recharge. My dream destination is Greece. I’d love to explore the islands, experience the culture and see those beautiful blue waters and the whitewashed villages in person.

If you could have dinner with any person (past or present), who would it be and why?

Without a doubt, it would be my sweet mom. She has been in Heaven for the past seven years, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss her. I would treasure the chance to sit across the table from her one more time, to laugh together, hear her voice, give her a hug, and tell her just how much she means to me.

What is one small thing that always makes your day better?

Spending time with my friends and family or finding the perfect vintage treasure always brings a smile to my face.

What is your favorite movie, TV show, or book that you would recommend to others?

One of my favorite movies is Steel Magnolias. It has the perfect mix of humor, friendship and heartfelt moments. I love how it reminds us of the importance of friendship, faith, and lifting each other up through every stage of life.

Are you a coffee or tea person? What is your favorite way to enjoy it (iced, hot, flavored, creamers, etc.)? And are you more of a morning person or a night owl?

I am more of a coffee person, and I prefer it to be hot. I can drink black coffee but if I do, I prefer a bit of cream and sugar in it. I also like the mochas from Fusion Coffeehouse—I think that has some cocoa or melted chocolate in it. I would say that I am probably more of a morning person than a night person, but it is close. I like the mornings more because you have the whole day ahead of you, and you get to look forward to what the day will bring. I also enjoy being up early to get a head start on my daily tasks, and there is also something peaceful about being up early.

What is your favorite vacation spot, or where is your dream destination you would love to visit one day?

My favorite vacation spot is a place called Grand Isle, Louisiana. It’s funny because there is nothing fancy about the place, but it is one of my favorite places in the world. It’s a place that reminds you to enjoy the little things in life. My family has some great friends that have a camp there, and they invite us every summer to come and stay for a weekend. Weekends there are filled with fishing, laughter, and good conversation.

If you could have dinner with any person (past or present), who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with one person, past or present, I would choose George Washington. I have always been a fan of Washington, but the older I get the more I have grown to admire him. Washington had such foundational impact on our society, and his leadership through uncertainty was based on practical decision making as opposed to theories or tactics that came before him. Also, one of the most remarkable things about George Washington is what he didn’t do. After winning a war he gave up power instead of keeping it. After serving as the first president, he stepped away voluntarily to set the precedent. It shows his character and discipline.

What is one small thing that always makes your day better?

One small thing that always makes my day better is looking out the window at my yard and doing work in my yard. I take a lot of satisfaction in improving and maintaining my yard and from a young age I have always liked the outdoors, plants, and nature, so I think that is one thing that has just stuck with me. My neighbors or people that drive by my house may think I am crazy because in the afternoons I am always looking out the window, but it is just something I love to do.

What is your favorite movie, TV show, or book that you would recommend to others?

My favorite TV show is Breaking Bad, and I would recommend to people, but I do think that it’s probably not a show that everybody would like. I think it has some of the best writing and acting in all of television, and I always find myself rewatching old episodes or clips. You can find it on Netflix if you are interested. I also recently watched a movie called The Prestige—I had a close friend recommend it to me and it was incredible. I would recommend that as well.
